Recto Pre and 2:100 tube assignment FAQ....

V1-A Channel 1 Input
V1-B Channel 1 Gain

V2-A Channel 2 Gain
V2-B Channel 2 Input

When looking inside the 2:100 from the front (back of unit facing away from you), there are three tubes lined up left to right.


V1-A Input side A
V1-B Input side B
V2 Driver side A
V3 Driver side B

Now, by looking at this it looks like it's possible to change the charicteristics of channel 1 without changing channel 2. For instance, you could drop a 12AY7 or a 12AX7 with a sweeter clean sound in the V1 slot without worrying about it impacting channel 2's high gain tone.


Now, I just need to clarify with Boogie if the 2:100's Driver tubes (V2 & V3) are the phase inverters.....

As well, I asked them which 6L6s were paired together, so I'll add that info too when I get it.

Thanks for this, dude. One of the tubes on my Channel 2 sounds like it's shot (clean channel is uneffected), so you just saved me from changing them all for nothing.

I'll probably wind up changing them with JJ/Teslas anyways. Thanks for the info, though!
