Howdy Folks...

Just got a Quad Preamp, and I'm wondering a few things about it after the first test drive.

Preface: I had a Mark IV for about ten years, so I got good at dialing that in, but I am unfamiliar with the Mark III style controls.

I noticed when I am in the Lead 1 mode, turning the volume and/or master for Rhythm 1 affects the volume and gain on lead 1. The same thing happens on Lead 2 with the rhythm 2 controls.

Is this normal, or is something awry?

Thanks,

Rich

Yes, those controls are supposed to interact that way. The rhythm volume is equivalent to the gain on the Mark IV channel 3, and the lead drive is equivalent to the drive on the Mark IV.

Congratulations on getting a quad! I have found so many tones in mine after getting over wanting both lead channels to be that classic searing Mark lead tone. I currently run mine as R1 clean, L1 bluesy setup to take pedals well, R2 high gain rhythm, and L2 classic Mark high gain.
