Triaxis suddenly dropping level

Hi all, I have an oldish Triaxis and it has just recently started to randomly drop level by about 90% while I am playing. This seems to happen in all modes and I can usually solve the problem by turning it off and back on again.

Any suggestions as to what causes this?

Could obviously be a lot of things but based on the issues I had with mine there might be a good chance that one or more of the LDRs are on their way out. Those are used, for example, to control volume levels.

I ended up sending mine to MB for a check-up and repair and they swapped out a bunch of those. They were relatively quick (maybe 2 or 3 weeks) and cost was reasonable, I think around $170 or so.
