Can't send or receive data dumps with TriAxis editor

I've been trying to use the TriAxis editor to dump patches (also tried a receive) with no luck. I can get the program/presets to change when I move the sliders, so I think it's hooked up correctly. It's running through a Steinberg MIDEX 8 midi interface - could that be confusing it?

Yup, channel 1 on TriAxis and editor. I'm thinking the problem is either with the MIDEX or my computer OS (Windows 2000). I saw a disclaimer stating it won't work with Windows XP unless it's run in Win95 emulation mode. Not sure if this is an issue with Win2k - I may cobble together a Win98 system and see if that works.
