Just wondering, I've read that this power amp is identical to the Dual Rect's power section which you can pull a pair out. Can you do the same with the 2:100?

If so is it the center 2 on each or the outer?

Thanks,
Jason

BTW: Very cool board you guys have here, nice place! :D

Most amps with 4 power tubes can be cut in half powerwise by pulling out a pair (the correct pair - usually inner or outer pair) of tubes. There is a big discussion about changing the cabinet impedence to match when you do it.

Not sure about the 2:100. Thats a dual power amp right? 100W per side? I'm assuming there are 4 tubes per amp equaling 8 power tubes in total correct?

Cheers,
-L

Your right about the ohms being changed when pullong a pair.
IIRC if you pull 2 tubes out of a dual recto, the 8 ohm jack becomes 4 ohms, the 16 becomes 8.

Yes the 2:100 has 8 tubes, 4 per 100 watt side.
I've got a set of NOS 6l6's from my old dual that I'd like to put in and make this thing less likely to peel the paint off my walls.

Thanks,
Jason
