I know Mesa made a really fast change to its Road King series. What is the diffrence between series one and two. My next amp purchase depends on this. Thanks.

From MESA website:

* Improved Channel 1 & 2 now features CLEAN and FAT from our acclaimed LoneStar® - our best clean ever - along with incredible new TWEED and BRIT modes. These two channels alone make a mighty amplifier.

* All New, All-Tube Reverb also from the LoneStar® is deeper, more lush and ambient and sticks tighter to the notes. Reverb control now rides in each Channel Strip.

* Improved Effects Loops are both Series for seamless interfacing of processing.

These are the reasons why I bought the RK II :D

In my review of the Road King II, I covered the differences between the RK I, RK IIv1, and the new RK IIv2:

That paperweight don't got Tremolo! Uuh... Take that!

the improvements are worth it to me, in choosing wether or not to get a roadking series 2. I had a series one and although it was amazing, when the series 2 came out, I noticed a lot of improvement and would have sold it to get the series 2 but I my ended up being more mark series oriented at that time.

Sorry, I know this is an old topic, but I have a quick question for someone more knowledgeable about Road King heads.

My question is, how do I easily tell whether I'm looking at a series I or series II when shopping for a used one of these?

When reading the differences, I'd say I definitely want a series II. Just wanted to make sure that I'm not getting duped by a seller who doesn't know the difference and just says "oh yeah sure, it's a 2." I'll probably buy used from Guitar Center because I like that 30-day guarantee and I want to be able to ask whoever answers the phone "Can you tell me if the head has [insert visual characteristic that only a series II would have] on it?

Thanks

Yes, nobody would ever deliberately want the original Road King vs. the Road King II.

The logo right on the face of the amp (under Dual Rectifier) says Road King II on it. And the foot controller says "King Controller II" (but separately says Dual Rectifier Road King without the II elsewhere on the foot controller).

See the photos in my review for clarification.
