Mesa comes out with a new amp and no comments all day? OK. I'll comment.
This looks like a really nice amp! I can't wait to hear it. At first, I thought the identical channels was redundant, but the more I think about it, I like it. On the Mark amps, if you don't like one of the channels, you won't use it. The Fillmore seems almost more versatile, since you can set up the two channels as close or as different as you want. If just want one basic sound, with a slight mid boost and more gain for the leads, this would allow you to dial that in, instead of having to switch to a totally different sound. But, if you
want a very different sound, it looks like the 3 modes will get you there. Sounds like it will do the Fender thing, from blackface to tweed. I am hoping the HI mode will get into Marshall territory... I am excited to hear this!
I am also hoping this might lead to a smaller, single channel version... a souped up Princeton! I love my Subway Blues, but it seems like a single Channel Fillmore would be pretty nice! ...and Mesa, if you are listening, please give it a 6V6/6L6 power tube option!
