I just recently bought my first Boogie, a Mark Five:25 head in the standard black. I'm also eyeing a vertical 2x12 Recto cabinet from a local guy on CL. My goal would be to replace both grille materials with the kind of wicker material Mesa uses, as I think it looks quite fetching. I inquired of Mesa and they can send make me a grille in wicker for $150 + shipping, but I didn't get a quote for the cab. Guessing it would be well done, but costly. I think doing it myself could be much more cost effective.

So, does anyone know what kind of wicker they use? And would it need any sort of sealing or coating applied first? Not sure how significantly either of these would affect the sound. I'm also not sure how easily the grille board comes off the speaker cabinet.

If anyone has experience with this, I'd appreciate your thoughts.
