Random popping -diagnosis?

Hey guys,
My Heartbreaker has started doing this random static/popping sound as if someone were playing with the input jack. I'm guessing a loose connection/solder joint?

How should I go about isolating the problem and solving it? I can't play the amp when it's doing this.

try some contact cleaner on a 1/4" plug (guitar cable) and work it in and out of the effects loop jacks several times to clean them. even when not in use, the effects loop is part of the signal chain. my heartbreaker head had the same problem. drove me crazy. now when I do not use the effects loop, I run a short jumper cable in it and rotate the plugs frequently between uses to help remove any corrosion. I have had no problems since doing this.
