Hi folks -

First post. I just purchased my first Mesa Boogie - a Rocket 44. It seems solid and sounds like a pretty decent combo amp.

It has the original Black Shadow MC90 speaker and the three-button foot pedal and is in excellent shape.

I can't seem to find out much about it, though. Search engines are full of pieces and parts of info, but nothing really firm. I did cruise around this forum but didn't find the kind of stuff I'm looking for.

For instance -

Is this a 40W amp? When were these manufactured? Is it worth it to buy the EQ pedal (was recommended by friends)?

Thanks very much for your help.

Congrats! It's a killer combo! Definitely can hold it's hold against a loud drummer and quite a versatile amp. Shimmering cleans to sizzling distortion.

It's rate 44 watts. Not sure when the year it was made but it's around 2000 and up. I don't use an eq for my amp, the eq on the amp works great!

Thanks very much for the answers. I appreciate it.

I don't see an EQ anywhere on the amp. I saw that the 22 had an EQ of some sort, I think.

Anyway, thanks again.

You can find the manual here, hopefully that can answer some of your questions.

And here is Mesa's page on it and it was considered part of the subway series.
