I clipped the 5000pf cap to kill the low pass filter after the loop. Loved it - huge improvement.

Looking at the schematic I noticed that the presence controls on ch 2 and 3 are not traditional presence controls, but rather variable low pass filters on the treble wiper after the tone stack. Even fully clockwise, this circuit is loading down the signal.

I'm not crazy about how this sounds. Clockwise it thins out your sound. The other way it darkens quite a bit. In the middle it's about right, but..hmm.

So I desoldered one lug of the pot on ch 3 and got a more raw sound with more punch, and the highs are just right.
Can also be done on channel 2. Channel 1 has the filter later on, but you can try it there as well.
Tape off the bare wire end.

Mine is a 100 watt head into running a Marshall 4x12 with V30s and its a more formidable beast now.
