Quite the opposite, actually. These cabinets have been out of production for a while now. I have a 3/4 back 1x12, and it sounds great!
 
I know the 1x12 and the 2x12 Three Quarter (actually, I own one of these).
Never heard of a 4x12 Three Quarter.
 
No..not a new thing..I've had a few of these back in the day.. sounded great with my road king and mark 3 and 4.
