Hey all,

I have a DC-5 combo that I really like. I generally use the EQ engaged full time as I find the amp with the c90 in it without some slight V scooping harsh sometimes. It's not a huge issue as I like it with the EQ on full time, I just wonder if the natural voice of the v30 might not require me to have the EQ on all the time.

Anyone have any experience with this?

It's been a few years, but I remember not liking it when I tried it. The DC-5 naturally has that low-mid hump, and combined with the V30s upper-mid honk just made it... well... too middy. Now I run my Mk IV with the GEQ off, so I like my mids, but I didn't like that amp/speaker combo.

If you need to cut the mids to stop it sounding harsh with the C90 it will be even worse with the V30.

The huge mid hump is what made me move on from my DC-5 eventually...
