Just an FYI: I've been in contact with Eminence about their MB OEM speakers and got this:

Quote:
the old Mesa speaker did not get revived. Mesa has gone in this direction: This new speaker is our closest offering to what Mesa is using. http://www.eminence.com/speakers/speake ... odel=CV-75

I am sorry we do not have exactly what you are looking for.

Hmmm.... CV-75 and FM-75. The backs look identical and the names are very similar. Ignoring cosmetics, I wonder if they're the same speaker.

Although they share some construction similarities, such as using the rolled speaker frame for this model, they are not identical speakers. Thanks!

Is Mesa any closer to selling these speakers individually? It's been a few months since I asked and I am still curious to try these in one of my Recto 4X12's.

Thanks,
Dom

My contact at Eminence tells me they've been shipping them so MB has them.

I'm sure they are taking care of combo amps and new cabs first, while stocking up for the members here

According to MB's website they're available now:

Hi Eric –

The Fillmore 75 speaker is IN STOCK and available to be ordered either as a raw frame replacement speaker or with any MESA cabinet where you’d prefer that speaker.

You can order it via your local dealer or distributor OR – if you are in the USA, you can order it direct from MESA. Contact your local dealer or call MESA Customer Service and they can get you taken care of.

Hope you’re digging’ the Recto-Verb 25 and the Mini Rec Extension!

I called MB customer service during business hours and had to leave a message because no one in CS was around. After a seven days they finally called me back. Hmmm....

I asked what the price is on the Fillmore FM-75 and was put on hold. After about a minute he got back on the phone and said "$129". During the entire conversation he didn't seem too interested in "customer service".

This and worse is the treatment I have received from them on numerous occasions. I love my Heartbreaker, but Mesa customer service is lacking. Right down there with Crate and Fender. I have learned to figure it out myself or go to a tech if I can't. The best customer service I have found is from Peavey.

Bummer. I've had better luck with CS.

Incidentally, I put the Fillmore back in my RV25. I'm having a much better experience this time around.

Wow! Necro-bump.

Those are guitar speakers made exclusively for MB, I don't know why there is all this mystery involved.....

I think the real question is 'how do they sound'?

Interesting... Eminence takes its roots from CTS who made a wonderful speaker for Fender, so this should come as no surprise given the Boogie roots.

Still for anybody over 40 there has always been a stigma of cheap when it comes to Eminence, though they have a come a long ,long way since the early days.

I had some Eminence blue frame 10's in a 1st year Vibroking that went to crap pretty quick, albeit paper voice coil formers being used.
I replaced them twice before finally offing the amp.

I Love the C90 made by Celestion in my F50 3/4 back extension cab, I'd love some extra speakers , will the Fillmore change "my" sound and will the Celestion C90 still be available?

I'm really curious about these also. I thought they were going to be for sale individually by now.

Is Mesa just rebranding it's speakers it sells now?

The Fillmore 75 is an Eminence speaker made for Mesa to use and sell (and supposedly targeted at fixing some issues they have with the Celestion Vintage 30s). And Mesa previously rebranded Celestion C-90s as Black Shadow C-90s, as well as EVM-12l's as Black shadow and VS-12's from Eminence as Vintage Black Shadow.

And they supposedly already request custom V30s from Celestion because they don't like the normal production V30s.

So is there a chance they've just decided to consolidate their custom speakers (only available for purchase through Mesa) under their own brand. So Celestion can still make and sell their V30 and C-90, but the Mesa specific ones will be labelled and sold as Fillmore, just like the 75 they get from Eminence and whatever the 100 was in the King Snake?
