Mixing speakers question

Hello all -
Can I connect an 8 ohm 212 cab (with two 16 ohm speakers) to the TC 50w Combo along WITH the 8 ohm stock speaker? Or do I need to disconnect the stock speaker and then connect the 212 cab? Many thanks!

Connect both the speaker and the cab switch the amp to 4 ohms.

OK, cool. This is a first for me.... running a 112 combo with a 212 ext cab, each with different ohm speakers. Thanks for the help!

The “cabinet” ohms are what’s important. If the two 16 ohm speakers in your 2x12 cab are wired in parallel, then the amp will “see” the cabinet as 8 ohms. If the 1x12 has an 8 ohm speaker, then the cab is “seen” as 8 ohms (stating the obvious on that one).

So, hooking the above two cabs to the amp and setting the amp to 4 ohms is correct and a perfect match (because the two cabs are connected to the amp in parallel, this is how the amp jacks are wired). I do this exact same thing all the time.
