Hey guys,

I have had a JP2C for the past 6 or 7 years. What a truly great amp. One thing that surprised me the most was how pleasing the clean channel is.

I've always had an issue though--it seems that with some of my guitars that have particularly hot pickups there is a slight but ugly crackling noise that happens--it's not any kind of pleasant preamp overdrive but almost more like what you'd think of sounding like very slight digital clipping (obviously, I realize it's not that--just using that as a point of comparison to give an idea what the sound is similar to). If I turn the volume on the guitar down a bit, it doesn't happen.

I thought I'd get on here and see if anyone can help.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can offer some expertise on this. Cheers - Steve

Sounds like you might just need to adjust the gain settings on that channel for any of your hotter guitars. Have you tried that yet?
