My TA-30 is completely quiet when bypassing the reverb/loop. When I turn on the reverb switch there is a buzzing hum that is not affected by the volume knob. Turning down the reverb helps some, but it is clearly audible. This occurs in both channels. When switched off it is completely silent (yea!)
