RA100 GAS cured by Oz prices

Post by enuenu » Fri Jan 24, 2014 9:21 am

Had GAS for a RA100 until I checked local price in Australia;
AUD$4k here

USD$2k there

Convert currency = AUD$2300
add 10% local tax = AUD$2530

That leaves around AUD$1500 for shipping from USA.
I can fly round trip Sydney to LA for between AUD$1100 and AUD$1400.
Oh, the pain!
Futile bleat complete.

Thinking of an EVH 5150III. At least it is semi affordable here. Looking for a little more cut and articulation than my DR seems to give across all strings. DR rules drop tuned rock chord chugging but a little disappointed beyond that.

This is actually a great argument for pedals. There is a renaissance taking place in the pedal market right now like never before, and they all sound magnificent. Plus, they're cheaper to buy and easier to sell than an amplifier. Just some food for thought...

If your serious about getting an RA give Proaudio a call. I didn't pay anything near $4K for mine.

That sucks man...

Not to rub it in but I've been playing for 20+ years and it's the best amp I've ever laid my hands on - I'm only saying this because I think you'd be happy you spent the extra cash to get it (as long as you can find a way to get it and not pay 4K...yikes!)

Good luck
