I just took delivery of a TA30 head. Jesus the fan is noisy. I can hear it clearly from across the room. It sounds like a mini dustbuster or a broken computer from 1991. My Shiva was absolutely silent.

Is there something wrong?

Yes ! Mine is totally quiet. I did have a B stock one first and that had, amongst others, the same problem :-(
Send it back and have it fixed.
