Electra Dyne Punk Rock Sound Demo

Post by YellowJacket » Fri Jun 15, 2018 3:13 pm

Here is a recording of the Electra Dyne using a Torpedo Live.
The pickup in my LP is a Bare Knuckle Alnico Nailbomb. Hope you like it ;)

The Torpedo Live is a reactive loadbox and digital cabinet / mic sim. It's not a dead ringer for an acoustic cabinet but it is quite convincing, especially in a mix!

These things are the solution for silent recording, late night jamming, and even stage set ups. I saw a video Ola Englund did years ago and I'm so glad I got one! It makes recording regularly far easier.

The virtual setup is a britgreen impulse (Model of a Marshall 4 x 12 with greenbacks) using an SM57. I've gotten similar results with an SM57 in the room and the quality is better, but once you put it in a mix, it doesn't matter. AND, it is WAY easier to record to a click through studio speakers. Recording with a headset with an amp blaring in the room is terrible. This has made all the difference.

Ah yeah of course, I missed that you used the torpedo live. Sounds great, very handy for silent practice too.

This is an absolutely astounding piece of kit and it's usefulness cannot be overstated. It's basically revolutionized owning large displacement tube heads for me.

Here is a new mix of my little punk thing. I brought the guitars up and tried using a more modern drum tone. https://soundcloud.com/paul-levasseur-2 ... paul-punk2
