Has anyone tried to further equalize their Mark V with a equalizer pedal?

Yep. Had Source Audio Eq for Ch2/Crunch... tested also using it with ch3 but the built in GEQ worked best in that context.

Source Audio is the "new hotness"...hehe. I got an older DOD FX40b I've yet to try. I used it on an older amp, but since the Mark V sounds so good on it's own, I've never thought I'd need it again.

Good idea though! Don't have to use it over all channels!!
 
I use a MXR 10 band in the loop. I cut out some fizz and boost the bottom end but the mids are flat. I use the gph eq onboard the amp for the levels.
 
I believe this was talked about in a thread talking about Metallica's tone. They used an eq in the loop of their Mark 2 C+'s.
