Hi all,

Apologies if this has been discussed here before but I noticed an image that had me scratching my head a bit:

https://mesaboogie.com/amplifiers/electric/mark-series/mark-five/index.html

Please scroll down to the amp's front panel image directly under "OVER 40 YEARS OF RANDALL SMITH’S INNOVATION IN ONE AMP."

It reads "Tweed Power" where we know Mark Vs actually list this as "Variac Power" - You have to scroll over the image of the front panel with your cursor to see this (the primary/banner on this image has it listed correctly, reading Variac Power.)

Any thoughts on why this image exists?

I replaced a faceplate on my early MKV, couldn't tell if it ever said "Tweed" there, as the reason for the replacement was due to the lettering having worn off...

It's probably a prototype. I used to design consumer products and pics were taken of prototypes before production was available and used in promotional materials.
