Hey Folks,

Like a # of the early Mark Vs, my combo's outer faceplate had the writing wear off in spots and I'll be replacing it shortly.

It appears to be attached via just a set of allen screws that could be removed with the chassis still in the cabinet.

Would you:

A) Give it a shot to replace while still in the cabinet?

or

B) Take out the chassis and do it on a bench?

Any help appreciated,
JD

Heya!

I would remove the chassis and work it on a bench. Allen screws have small nuts and washers in opposite side. Those buggers will drop inside the chassis before the faceplate is completely undone... attaching the new faceplate would be hard also because of aforementioned reason :p
