Because there are so many tones available, maybe someone can help me with something.
I am looking to figure out how to cop Terry Kaths tone on the live version of 25 or 6 to 4. Not the solo or wah tone etc. When he starts the song there is a lot of natural overdrive. When the vocals kick in at 1:29 THAT'S the tone I am looking for. It may be a simple case of turning down the volume on the guitar. In his case he has simply an amp and a wah. In my case I have the Mark V 35 and I need to choose either clean or fat and live with it as I play in a cover band doing anything from this to the Sia so my clean channel has to cover a wide range and I am not sure I can do all that with only the guitars volume pot.
Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.
