Soundfile with/without 12at7 valve

Hi, im still struggling to buy the Mark 5. In almost every video i can hear this cold upper mid frequency which is somehow present in all modes and channels and cannot be dialed out with the eq. On the other side there is something attractive in the sound, i guess its the focused famous mark crunch, which is addictive.
I hope with the 12at7 mod this upper frequency peak is dialed out.
Can somebody record a riff with before and after this mod? But please record without a band mix. Just the amp. 1 take with stock tubes and one with 12 at7.

Here is something I recorded on CH3. I cannot tell the difference between stock tube or 12AT7 in V4 in the recording. I believe I was also running a Vertical 212 cab with the amp. Recording sort-of sucks but I was after the distortion characteristic. Both with and without the 12AT7, the amp had the bright switch is off. Not sure I had stock power tubes in the amp either. 90W setting at full power.

This is the reason why I could not sell the Mark V. I recorded this before the 12AT7 mod thing occurred. Stock tubes in the V but was using a Celestion Crèam 90W Alnico speaker. That speaker sounded awesome even with the ice pick intact. Too bad I killed it when I tried the JP-2C though it. Sorry this one is layered with drums and bass. Two guitar tracks using the Mark V only. My drumming not very good here so bear with it if you can.

I actually really liked the modes already in Ch1 and Ch2 before I put the 12AT7 in V4.
When I put the 12AT7 in V4- Ch3 really improved in a good way and it wasn't really bad before- just hard to dial in.
Much easier to dial in tones now. Really like it.

I would suggest borrowing a Mark V from somebody and trying it with your CAB and setup.
Maybe you are not a Mesa guy.
It is a great amp - but like all units it is not necessarily for everyone.

I can pretty much get all of these tones pretty close using his settings.
If you don't like this video- you probably will not like the Mark V.
