Hi all

I put together a recording and video of my cover of Along for the ride by Dream Theater using my Mark V.

Gear and settings in the descriptions and video.

Strongly recommend trying the variac setting. Adds a great sponginess to the tone that I'd never thought I'd be into. It's described in the manual as largely suitable for 'vintage clip' but i love the way it feels for more high gain tone.

Hope you enjoy!

Nice job on the song. I'll go back and listen again later with headphones so I can hear it better. Sounds good!

Thank you!

I got held up on the sweeping for quite a while. The song is much harder to play than it looks with lots of awkward chord shapes and weird finger patterns in the lead parts.

I'm currently putting together a video of on the backs of angels using crunch mode in channel 2. The tone is soo sweet. There was a stage where I had given up on channel 2, but found this setting that I absolutely love.

Hi Mace

Sure, Channel 2 settings I was referring to are:

45w, Tube, Variac Power and no EQ

I've posted a separate thread for this setting / video to hear the recording:

Should mention output volume is quite low at 9o'clock and using an attenuator to further reduce. When played with these setting at lower volume you may want to drop the mids to make the distortion it a bit clearer. Let me know if any questions.
