I bought a used mkV combo (2009) in mint condition. V1 was microphonic so I replaced it. The power tubes are a mix of STR-430 (inner pair) and STR-440 (outer pair).
As far as I can judge they work fine, just wondering If I would benefit from changing the tubes. Do you always change the rectifier tube when changing the power tubes?
Here in the Netherlands the Mesa branded tubes are approximately $70,- for a pair, and $40 for the rectifier tube. I don't mind spending the money but only when needed.
