Hey All, Finally found that LSS head I've was searching for. Now I'm searching for tone. I have no problem getting great clean tones. It's when I try to get some break-up. I understand it takes some time to get channel 2 dialed in. The tone I'm getting doesn't even sound like a guitar (on the lower strings) it sounds like some kind of "synthed" string instrument ie. violin, cello etc. Which may be desirable in some cases. I've tried it w/ a Fender Tele Deluxe, Gibson SG DT, and a Gibson cs 356. Running through a top hat 212 w/ greenbacks (55hz), closed back. I play mainly blues and blues-based rock. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Time for the mod that fixes that.

What about taking the back off your Speaker cab and making it an open back?

So how did it work out?

On the dirty channel (and this seems like a Mesa thing, period) you really do have to turn the bass down as you turn the Gain up. This is what will keep your guitar sounding like a guitar on the low strings.
