Trying to learn the best way to use my Lonestar. Is there any benefit to putting my pedal effects into the effect loop in and return as opposed to just going directly into the input (guitar-effects-input)?
Thanks - T

The answer is always: do what sounds best to you.

There's really only one rule: distortion, overdrive, and compression pedals pretty much have to go in front of the amp. They don't do well in effects loops.

The only semi-quantifiable advantage to using the loop is if you want to use time-based effects like delay, reverb, or certain chorus/flange sounds in conjunction with more than moderate drive in Channel 2. Delay going into distorted amp usually sounds terrible, the loop fixes that. Otherwise, no reason not to run everything in front.
