Hi all,
I have an express 5:50 and i hope I haven't just killed it.. ok fingers crossed
So basically plugged a T. rex soulmate pedal... into the effects return so my signal chain was ...
guitar-soulmate-effects return.. on the clean channel on 5watt mode.
It sounded quite bad so I unplugged it an went back to normal..
though the front end..
Now there is nothing at all coming out on the clean channel..
dirty channel seems fine..
does anyone body know what I've probably done?
Valves hopefully But I suspect I'll be waving goodbye to more £££ than that.

Thanks... I'm an idiot

Can't imagine why that would fry the power amp and why the other channel would still work if it did.

Make sure you've unplugged the effects return jack? Still doesn't make sense the drive channel works and clean don't. Download the manual and see if one of the preamp valves is unique to the clean channel, if so try that one first.

Interesting where you say your signal chain was 'Guitar - pedal - return jack', I'd never thought to do that, effectively bypassing both preamp channels, I always thought you needed to go via to send then receive.. Does anyone else go directly into the receive?
