I found a Mesa cab at a local pawn shop. How do I know I am buying a compatible cabinet for my 5:50 combo?

I don't know for sure, but my guess is it would be the ohms. Check on the Mesa website or call them.

No label on the cab jack plate? Almost all Mesa cabs are 8 ohms. Even the 4 x 12s. Sometimes you need to open 'em up, no telling what the last genius did. The manual, available at the Mesa website, will tell you to plug two 8 ohm cabs into the two four ohm speaker jacks. SOP.

Thanks guys. I am so lazy. The answer is right in the owner's manual.
Just trying to get a more rangy sound out of my combo. I thought if anyone else had used their 5:50 with an extension cab I would get a suggestion or two.
Thanks again.

I've used an Egnater Tourmaster 2 x 12 cab with it. That has jacks with different ohms settings. Sounds great! Gives it more dispersion and spread.
