Hello all.

I recorded this tune for my brother whom enjoys the melody. I used the Mesa Express 5:50 and thought I'd share.

I enjoyed your playing really :)

I'm commenting though cos this Youtube clip demonstrates to me exactly why Youtube is such a poor vehicle for demonstrating the tone of anything.

Now Barry's playing is good and so is his recording (ie, for youtube).
I'd bet his process is simple, using decent tools, clean tones & it's got no post recording EQing applied.

But it doesn't sound like any Express amp I've ever heard does it ??
Heavily compressed and with all top end sparkle and low end warmth clipped off by youtube processing.
If Barry has an mp3 of the same recording it would be interesting to post that and we can hear just how much youtube changes tone.

I might be able to glean the audio off the original recording.

I do, however, go for a very dark sound. Neck pickup. Volume and tone rolled back some. Treble knob knocked back to about 9-10 o'clock.

Thanks for the compliments! :D
