Cab for Express 5:25

Post by gitaryzt1985 » Wed Aug 08, 2012 1:14 pm

I've got an Express 5:25 1x12 combo. I'd like a matching cab, and I know they made the Express cabs for a while but it looks like they are discontinued. So, what the crap am I going to get now that will halfway match the Express?

Try a Lonestar 19" Wide 1 x 12" cab

The Lonestar Cab is the black cab on the left....I added the silver piping to the 5:25 head to match the cabinet.

The Right one is a standard 19" Wide 1 x 12"Express Cab that I recovered in Creme Bronco.

enjoy!

The width difference only bothers me if I look at it!

Seriously, I looked for another Express cab and even phoned Mesa...no luck... used or otherwise, so the LS cab was my only option...it sounds good so I'm Happy!

It's less than a 1/4"...

The Express Cab cabinet wood-wood is 18-3/4"

The Lonestar Cab cabinet wood-wood is 18-1/2"

That's 1/8" difference on each side...the wife hasn't noticed

I called and apparently you can't special order them either. Luckily, my buddy on another forum sent me a link to a shop in TN that had an Express 19 cab for sale new. I jumped on it!

It stinks that they discontinued them. I guess no one was buying.

I'll eventually get one for my 5:50.

This is my exact setup. You can find those cabinets with a c90 speaker in them for cheap all over craigslist.

The one pictures here i believe is the wide body cabinet which fits the Express combo nicely. It sounds great.

I have one in great condition with cover and candy. Would sell for $550 plus shipping. Let me know if interested.
