While looking on ebay, I came across this 5:50
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mesa-Boogie-Express-5-50-Combo-Guitar-Amplifier-w-Foot-switch-and-Cover-Demo-/180895336580?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a1e33c884

The store selling it states that the Express series will soon be revoiced. Anybody got any info on this?

Definitely would be nice. Here's what I think they should do:

1. Leave the clean channel as is. It sounds great.
2. Revoice the lead channel's "burn" to have the DC-5's gain and voicing.
3. Leave the verb, leave the 5/50 multiwatt.
4. Profit.

Seriously, I dig the amp, but the gain on burn was just a little bit lacking for me to get one, and I ended up finding a used DC. I still prefer the Express series to the F's though.

Sounds like typical dealer BS but who knows.

The Express has been around for a while. As long as the F-Series? Maybe it's time for change. They seem to revamp the lower series amps fairly often.

hehehe the Ebay adv says

The entire line of Express models will soon have new voicing so this model has to go!

hehe bollocks !!
nothing on the Mesa site about this ... and why would they bother to re-voice one of the best amps they make anyways

The manual shows the burn channel as having 4 gain stages. Surely there's a mod that can unleash the fury that rests in this thing? Maybe that's what Mesa is planning to do?

Maybe, but the demo video for the Express has been removed from Mesa's website.....I'd be willing to bet it's being revamped.
