need help with noise in express 5:50

ok im going to try to explain this. I bought a new mesa express 5:50 1x12 4 days ago. The first time i hooked it all up and turned the power on I waited about a min or so and then fliped off the standby and I heard alot of white noise and crackling and poping, not bad but noticable for about a min or two, then it settled down and didnt hear it again until the next day when i turned it back on. It dosent do it every time just maybe 2 out of 5. Is this normal or did i get a dud

That is not normal, try swapping the valves. If it is still under warranty take it back for a repair.
