On the Express series amps, can you switch from 5 to 50 watts on the fly without causing damage to the amp, speakers or the tubes? I'd have thought you would have to at least put it in standby.

The salesman in the store was flipping it back and forth demonstrating sounds, and it was creating a bang noise that didn't sound healthy to me. I want to make sure I don't fry my new amp when it arrives (new one, not the model the sales guy was demonstrating).
 
I always put it on 'Standby' first, not sure if it's necessary but it only takes a couple of extra seconds. Better safe than sorry.
