Hi All. Sorry for what might seem like such a simple question, but I can't seem to find out what is meant by a STRIPE. I just bought a Mark III, that has the date 1988 written in the chassis (w/simulclass,EV,&EQ). So far the amp is superb. After 30years of playing I finally got my boogie. I can't find a tone I don't like. I've plugged every guitar I have into it and can't decide which one sounds best with it. Why did I wait so long to get one?

Same year as mine and it's a blue stripe. So I'd guess blue or red.

This site doesn't give born on dates but it does descibe the dot/stripe history of the Mark III series.

You can also get a call into Boogie and get some info from Mike Bendinelli. They are really friendly to speak with.

Wow!! You guys are awesome. Now I understand it, and I did find a blue stipe on the back of my chassis too. I LOVE my boogie. After 30 years of playing, it's my first one. I've had 3 Marshalls, too many Fenders to list, 2 MusicMan, a Hiwatt Dr103, and other classics (I still have some of them), but his Mark III combo is just what I've been searching for sonically. This dite has been a wonderful source of information on it too. Thanks for the links!
