OK weird one.

I have noticed recently that my MIV is really grainy at pick attack so the notes get all mushed together. It's almost like a secondary saturation.
I've tried a bunch of different settings and changed Power tubes. No luck.
I'm a guitar guy and not an amp guy so looking for a bit of help here.
Would this be something that could come from a preamp tube? All the preamp tubes were replaced about 3 years ago and the amp was serviced and recapped about 4 years ago.

Thanks!!

Oh and yesterday while trying to diagnose I was playing big chords and the volume was phasing in and out. Only did it for a couple min. But thought I should mention.
