This is a very early IIC+ not upgraded and I just had it recapped by Mike B along with new NOS tubes they found for me at Mesa. Sylvania 6l6gc and Winged C EL34s running in simul class. I was going to go with Siemens EL34s but Mike B actually recommended the Winged C for their reliability and superior tone so I went with those plus they had them NOS at Mesa. I posted this clip on another forum as well but decided I probably should post here since we are ALL Mesa fans.

Supposedly this head belong to Neal Schon of Journey at a certain point.

Just to cause unnecessary drama I will add my totally unsubstantiated belief that I always thought the long heads sounded better because everything was laid out better and you had less interference from the components within the amp. Bash away but I just wanted to put it out there and since there is nothing but Mesa owners here if they agree with that or am I way off base?

Wet and dry setup with too much reverb:

sounds great! what guitar?

One of the clips was a 80's Duncan Quattro ESP guitar with JB and another clips was a real 1984 Gibson explorer with original dirty finger pickups.

SO we decided to run a original 1991 Bogner Fish through the power amp and EQ of the IIC+ and this is what we came up with, no pedals or boost:
