TAD Class A Converter

Post by j.hentschel » Tue Jan 09, 2018 8:50 am

Hi there!
Are there any experiences with the new Tube Amp Doctors Class A Converter Tubes?
TAD says, there are some amps that won't work with the converters. However, Boogies aren't mentioned in this context....

Yes, me. I still have them but they are in the box with the other replacement tubes. I tried them with a Marshall and found they did not turn it into a Vox (which I did not expect from them as I am aware that there is more to the Vox sound than just EL84 tubes). They also did not make it much lower in volume when cranked (which I did expect).

I am a regular TAD customer but I was not convinced of this product. I prefer a power attentuator.
