I recently got a 1987 Mark III red stripe - and the simul-class/class A switch seems to do nothing. Additionally all the power tubes are all 6L6s. Do you think the amp was modded and the switch disconnected? or if I install EL34s on the outer sockets will I regain Simul-class (15watt) operation?

I had this on my IIC+ DRG. It had a bad tube, and more importantly one of the big resistors coming off one of the tube sockets was broken in half. Send it to the mothership & have Mike B. fix it up for you.

The tube choice is not the issue.
