I have a short chassis Simul Class Mark III - Red Stripe.
I only use the Lead channel & R2 live. The Lead channel is my main channel &
R2 is set up for lower gain stuff live.

1st question? Can the volume mod be done on this Mark III chassis.
2nd question? I never use the clean channel live, so do I need this mod for any reason?

Thanks in advance for your help..

If you are not using R1 at all you have no real need for the mod. It only lets you set the relative volume of R1 against R2. It does not change the tone or gain of R2 in any special way.

I have modded my purple stripe combo but I use all three channels.

You may find having it does open up the versatility of the amp though. It's awkward to use all three channels, without.
