Hi folks.
I've just noticed that there is a shot resistor in my SOB.It would seem it's been like this since I got it so I'm not sure how it's affecting the amp.
Could someone tell me what this resistor is please and what it affect is on the amp? It's the first carbon comp resitor.

Thanks folks.

Thanks very much for the quick response.
This was like this when I got the amp and I haven't really noticed any ill affects.
How would this affect the amp. What problems would it cause with tone or functionality?
Can you recommend a suitable Mesa replacement please?
Thanks.

Simply swap out the resistor with a new carbon comp resistor - you definitely want to have that functioning correctly. If you need a tech, you can search for one in your area here: http://www.mesaboogie.com/support/index.html

Do Mesa stock a replacement part?

Absolutely. However, this is just a standard carbon comp resistor you can find anywhere. If you want to order from us - give us a ring in Customer Service during normal business hours 9am - 5pm Mon-Thurs PST. 707-778-6565 Thanks!
