My DC-3 has a LOUD pop when I take it off of Standby.
There is also a pop sound when I put the amp back on Standby, but it is not nearly as loud.

I haven't had time to look into it yet. I'm guessing that it needs a cap job, but not sure yet.

Anybody else have this problem?
Anybody else know what's doing it?

Tubes are pretty new and sound great. Amp is biased correctly.

I haven't even looked under the hood yet, but thanks for the reminder.

Seems like it didn't always pop though, but it sat for a while. I went through a Rivera stage and it was neglected for about a year.

My Studio 22+ has always had a low level pop going either way, standby or on. But unlike yours, it was louder going into standby.
It always did this and I bought the amp new. Never had any problems with it.
My Ace is quiet both ways.

Let us know what you find, you got my curiosity. :D

So I don't want to say that this could be 100% the issue but I had this exact problem with my mkiii purple. One of my screen grids blew and after I switched a new one in the pop was gone. Maybe a screen grid? I just recently swapped the other one so they were both new. No popping since. Maybe it's worth an investigation.

Right on, thanks guys!
Like usual, I didn't find the time to get to it today.

I bought a Silverface Vibrolux Reverb that needed some attention, so that's what I worked on today!
I couldn't pass it up for $675! It's in great shape and sounds phenomenal!

I'll take a look at the DC next weekend.
