Hey everyone this is my first post in this board and I just picked up my first boogie ever - a blond tolex mkii c+ combo (non eq/non simul class) ! I've only had it a day so I still need to mess around some more but it's a great amp. Any tips or tricks you can help me with would be great! It's got a celestion g12h-100 speaker and all mesa tubes . Beautiful mint condition too.

Also if anyone here knows where I can get an empty head shell for it that would be awesome. I checked the classifieds here and only see other people looking to but not sell like me.

Thanks and happy Veterans Day!

For a headshell, check ebay, or ask board member GTS. He constructs replicas by hand at prices better than new from the mesa factory.

To get the most out of that amp, you will need to understand that the volume is key. No volume=no magic C+ tone. If you're looking for some classic metal settings, make a small investment in a graphic EQ pedal. If you are really fanatic, ask around here and you might find someone that can recreate a Mesa graphic EQ as found on the amps themselves.

Finally, look up the "II-C" manual here or on the mesa website to understand how the knobs interact with each other.

You probably wanna call mesa and ask them if the can put an EQ on it, I think I hear s couple guys form here do that!

A good EQ stomp box will get you close to the factory EQ. If you gotta have onboard, sell it and buy one with EQ. I run Mesa 5881s in my C+s.

Mesa doesn't have any more IIC+ faceplates in stock. They have to install a Mark III faceplate instead. That and the "upgrade" costs $450 to start.
