I've got a very early MkIV Hardwood/Wicker.

It is an extremely dark but figured hardwood. Anyone know what woods Mesa were using? S/N IV0732 from 1990.

If not would Tien answer the question? He has been so helpful to me that I really don't want to bother him with such a trivial question......

Thanks,
Best, Pete.

They used Imbuya and as well used Bubinga. My Mrk III Simul-Class is an Imbuya/wicker combo. NICE wood. I am building a matching hidden dovetail Imbuya ext. cab for it. Very nice stuff to work with. It would rock to have a Mrk IV in hardwood.

LOL This is where I got my Imbuya from. These dudes will even cut the pieces to size if you ask. They rock.

I wasn`t gonna post any pics of my Imboogya cab till it was complete. But seeing as how I am feeling pretty good bout the wicker going on so nice today, I will post a screen. Gimme a bit tho.

Ok, here it is. This is what my Mrk III Simul-Class will be sitting on. Please keep inmind the finish sanding/staining is not yet done. I did the wicker front today. As well you will note the rackspace, that is for my Rocktron Xpression. Anyways, be kind. LOL

addendum: I am done! All that is left is for my buddy to wire it up. I will post a few screens in a day or so with the Xpression in it. 5 months ago I decided to build an ext. cab, and it sure is nice to see it come to fruition. Hopefully it sounds as good as it looks. lol
