Reverb switching mod

I've got an early Mark IV that doesn't have switchable reverb. I know that on more recent ones, the reverb is switchable.

Has anyone had this modded to make the reverb switchable?
How much? What's involved? etc...

I guess I should probably just call Petaluma. May do that tomorrow.

i noticed that one of my power tubes ( looking at rear of combo...last one

on the left) was running super hot....tested to see if it was the tube or the

socket... tube is fine (works well in other sockets) i was wondering what

could be wrong and roughly how much it costs to fix something like this...?

any help would be greatly appreciated !

Just got off the phone with Mike at Mesa Boogie.

He told me there is a surprizingly easy fix.

1. Disconnect the L RCA plug from the chasis. (not the left, the one with the lip)

2. Plug a RCA Y jack into the chasis (it should have 1 male and 2 female)

3. Plug the cable you just un-plugged into one side of the Y jack.

4. Plug a footswitch into the free side of the Y jack.

That's it!

Much easier than shipping it to Petaluma.

Now I'm looking for a RCA footswitch, even though I could just get a 1/4 in plug with RCA adaptor.

I'll report back after I do it.

Switchable reverb from the amp--priceless!

Playing with this really reminded me how much I like the onboard reverb in the Mark IV. It's a nice, lush boingy verb. Just a great compliment to the clean channel.

I'd been using a Peavey Valverb in the loop, and probably still will for most gigs, since I really dig the tremolo also. But it will be nice to leave the mini rack when all I need is reverb.

so youre just grounding out the reverb return?

when i get my f30, im gonna try to put in a switchable fx loop.
ive seen a schematic and i think i can figure it out pretty easy.
also, ill probably buy an axess cfx4 midi switcher and just splice
the footswitch cable to 3-1/4'' plugs and bam, full midi controll.

When I called Boogie I was expecting to hear, "Oh yea, we can add that but it will cost $250".
It was great that they gave me such an easy and quick fix.
I don't know why it wouldn't work on any amp, unless there's some weird impedence thing I'm not understanding.
