Hello all, I've just found the graal...
after my f30 who was a little bit too hissy with my telecaster and van zandt true vintage, the DC5 is exactly the one I was looking for, for a small price 'cause he is loaded with a celestion classic lead 80.
I've got the mc90 original, seem that it have to be repaired, but when I play the combo plus the 2X12 rectifier with V30's, th emix of both is perfect to my ears.

tihs is an original dc5.
i'va got only a bad footswith I wanna change.
I've found an old ibanez http://www.leboncoin.fr/instruments_de_musique/503636975.htm?ca=16_s
but the leds for eq and rev must be actived by a battery....

Can someone could help me, drawing what I must do in the circuit to mod the footswitch?
it's ok for the channel switch cause the amp bring the power...

thanx in advance from France.

This will work on an original DC5 as well as DC3 without needing batteries for the LEDs:

Thanx for the quick answer, but i don't understand why original fswtches on the mesa site, don't have leds... can u tell me how leds for the rev can hace power without battery?

Can't speak to Mesa's designs.
The Switchdoctor ones use power from the amp through the patch cable to light the LEDs

Mesa uses a -13v power supply down the cable to the LEDs. The LEDs are then powered in series.

Mmmmmm voodoo man does the perfect one, 3 switches on one box, and a 9v battery inside... but quite expensive for france anw the cable is only 15feet long... i'm thinking making one by myself alone... (almost)

If somebody has got a wiring diagram of that kind of things, i would appreciate a lot his contribution.
Thanx .

the second way could be... if a nice american would buy the pedal on ebay, an send it to me, I could pay him by paypal, for sure the shipment would be as low as possible... and I could do the same thing for him for another item in france... :D

see ya

The A's Rev/EQ switch did not have LEDs. If you want LEDs you will have to buy a powered switch. The 3v down the line is not enough to power an LED as well as complete the circuit. If you can get creative, there are a few places on the amp power can be taken from to power an LED or 2.

The channel switch does have an LED, and is powered by the cable/amp.

Your's is an A. So you need 2 different footswitches. They both can be purchased through Mesa, or a Mesa dealer.

http://mesa.stores.yahoo.net/fcdc.html --- Will go in your front jack and control your channels.

http://mesa.stores.yahoo.net/fcrg.html --- Will go in your rear jack to control Reverb and EQ.

You will need a shielded TRS cable for Reverb/EQ, and a standard shielded cable for the channel switch.

You can also build these pedals for about 30.00 in parts. They are EXTREMELY easy circuits. For your Reverb/EQ switch, it would be the same as below, minus the LEDs.
