Hi, I don't post here much, but I plan on changing that.

Just this Sunday, I became the proud owner of a DC-5 combo, and I noticed that when I got it home, there seems to be some strange kind of noise when I play at a lower guitar volume. I becomes less noticeable when I either turn up the guitar or turn up the gain.

Also, while swapping preamp tubes trying to fix this problem, a strange delay issue arose. The signal seems to have been doubled and delayed about 30 milliseconds.

I'm about to swap the entire preamp section and see if that works.

Does anyone know what's going on?

No idea but a tube change on a new used amp is never a bad thing. Good to have a base line and go from there. Do you know if any mods had been made to the amp?

I fixed the doubling problem by turning off my friend's Whammy, and changing the preamp tubes seems to have fixed the strange distortion.
