If so, which speaker and what were the results?

The background to this question is that the Mark series cabinet is very small and probably too small for a 12" speaker to let it breathe properly. Both the Black Shadow C-90 as well as the EVM sounded rather thin in the combo cabinet but especially the EVM bloomed when I put it into a separate cabinet. A 10" speaker could therefore be a better fit. I have a conversion adaptor so fitting would not be a problem.

I am aware that those amps came stock with a 12" but I cannot think of any 10" speaker in the 70s/early 80s that would have stood up.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Stephan

I have a rare Mesa 4x10 (vertical metal grille just like older 4x12's) that I've used with a C+
It sounds great!
Not sure how one 10" in a combo would sound as I've never tried it.
A Mark series combo speaker baffle is cutout for a 12" so you'd have to jury rig something or insert another baffle to fit/ use a 10" speaker.
